the Joliet Area Historical Museum (JAHM) continues to reach new heights in the quantity
and quality of programs, events, & exhibits offered to our community.
Some of 2023’s achievements include…
- Martin & Emma Planinsek Grocery & Meat
Market Museum Grand Opening
- Acquisition of Original Dairy Queen Building (currently under renovation)
- Gallery of Champions – new permanent museum exhibit
- Expansion of Old Joliet Prison permanent museum

Welcome Center & Gift Shop
- Expanded JAHM Field Trips and Old Joliet Prison Tour offerings
In addition to these achievements, we welcomed over 20,000 guests to the Old Joliet Prison and over 30,000 guests to the Museum! As you can see, it has been a very busy year here at JAHM and we are asking for your support in helping us to sustain and build upon these successes. It is our goal to move forward…not backwards!

to our Museum members and friends in the community. Your financial support
plays a key role in the continued existence and success of the Joliet Area Historical Museum. Your financial support will insure the
longevity of this award-winning and nationally recognized Museum which annually
receives visitors from 37 states and 31 countries.
So again, we ask for your support and that
you understand that any contribution to our Annual Giving will make a positive impact on our ability to build a
stronger community that we can all be proud of. We are a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization
